OctoPlanner

Group projects, managed poorly, can quickly turn into a nightmare. Managing a collection of groups over a project, on the other hand, just got easier.

With our product OctoPlanner, you can manage a project by collecting the relevant information in one place. Designed for working with Scrum, OctoPlanner allows you to define project dates and set up sprints within the project. Other significant dates throughout the project can also be defined as events, milestones or deadlines, making it easy to keep track of what is happening when. These dates can be viewed in a chronological list to make it easy to see all details, or on a calendar-like planner that helps visualise the project timeline.

But projects aren't just about dates, they're about people too. OctoPlanner allows all users to access the information about the project, as well as viewing the profiles of other users. Teachers and course admins can manage students by organising them into groups. Any user can be added to a number of groups which can be viewed and managed on the groups page. This allows you to organise users and their roles within the project.

The web interface enables access to the application from your internet connection of choice. OctoPlanner offers a way to centralise information about a project so that all people involved are on the same page. This is supported by live updates that make sure users always have access to correct, updated information, even as things are actively changing.

Use OctoPlanner and succeed at project management today.

Skillhub

Skillhub, by Team 200 is an application designed to provide simple project management and access to easy portfolio tracking. The primary purpose of this application is to allow students to create and manage personal portfolios. Skillhub will allow students to create items to add to their portfolio based off of quantifiable evidence, such as commits added to their project code repositories. Skillhub also offers a full project management suite, including the ability to view multiple projects, each with its own set of sprints, events, deadlines, milestones and evidence. Having everything managed in one place encourages students to continuously update their evidence as their skills grow.

The team at Skillhub hopes that every student that uses the application concludes their projects not only with a larger skill set but also with the evidence to back it up, taking the uncertainty out of their future job applications.

PortfolioPanel

PortfolioPanel is the newest portfolio application designed to not only allow you to organise your academic life but gain insight into the academic progress and achievement of your peers. PortfolioPanel supports the Scrum development process with the ability to create sprints within an academic project. Sprints can be modified and viewed on a visually appealing, interactive calendar, making the representation of work and progress effective and simple. Within a project, you can also add and modify events, milestones, and deadlines which are displayed elegantly on the calendar. You can maintain connections with your peers by viewing all users within the project as well as within project groups. Project groups allow students to connect PortfolioPanel with their GitLab repositories, enabling them to view commits.

PortfolioPanel offers students a way of displaying evidence of their work and progress to their peers. Each user has an evidence page that is visible to all other users. The page contains a list of entries that can be 'high-fived' by others. 'High-fiving' a user’s piece of evidence is equivalent to liking a post on Facebook or Instagram. This creates a competitive nature to the platform, which is further enhanced by the leaderboard. The leaderboard ranks all student users based on their evidence. This encourages students to upload examples of their work to the application, and enhances learning outcomes as a whole.

PortfolioPanel not only provides students with a refined platform for organisation, but also provides a sense of friendly competition between peers to encourage consistent academic and social improvement.

Space Odities

Team 700's Space Oddities set out to deliver the Lensfolio application where students can create and manage their portfolio of projects for their time at uni. There is support for multiple projects, all with their respective monthly planner, important dates, and pieces of evidence.

As a user, your profiles are customisable with personal pronouns, profile pictures and nicknames. This application is for both teachers and students, where;

  1. Teachers can create projects for their students, customising important dates for sprints, deadlines, milestones, and events.
  2. Students can view these project details to stay up to date with their course.

These important project dates are displayed visually with relevant icons in a helpful calendar. Our product can auto-update the calendar view using lazy loading, resulting in a seamless user experience and effortless visual representation to see updates come through.

Users can create, manage, and view other users' pieces of evidence through the respective user's profile. This evidence can help you and others get an accurate gauge of the project's progress. Evidence items include the skills gained, collaborators, commits and links. Web links are scanned for secure connections and real commits are browsed using the Gitlab API.

All these features are displayed in Lensfolio in a uniquely identifiable application design, fonts, colour palette, and button and border shapes - making it a distinctive and enjoyable user experience as you are managing your portfolios.

SENG Sprintr

SENG Sprintr is a course-scheduling, social-media hybrid app to be used by SENG302 students in 2023. The app is centralised around a project that is created by the course administrators and controlled by both the administrators and tutors. A project has aspects which follow the Scrum methodology, including sprints, events, deadlines, and milestones. Either tutors or course administrators put these into place for all students in the course to view, keeping them in the loop with the project.

SENG Sprintr has been adapted to utilise the addition of social media related features, such as posts, comments, messages, and notifications. All members within a group can create posts, allowing groups to share upcoming features, status updates, or anything they wish to share with their peers. These posts can be engaged with by anyone else in the course, leaving a “Hi-Five” to say great job, or a comment to say some nice things, or leave some feedback! Users will always be kept in the loop by receiving notifications based on events that occur within the application that relate to them, such as their post being “Hi-Fived”, comments being left on their post, new posts in a group they are following being created, and upcoming deadlines, milestones, and events.

Among all these features, we also have an in-built messaging system which allows for users to message other users. This could be a student asking a tutor a question, a group of students formed together to discuss an implementation detail, or even a tutor getting in touch with a group regarding the project!

Pofo

Pofo is a project course management and student portfolio application. It allows you to set up a project for your students that allows for agile development specialising in the Scrum process. Our application is designed specially for university students allowing them to track their yearly progress efficiently, and to maintain a record of all their new skills.

Pofo offers the ability for users to register an account which can have student, teacher, or administrator permissions. Teachers can create projects. Within projects, you can create sprints, events, deadlines, and milestones. Teachers can also create groups within a project and add students to them. Groups can have repositories linked to them. Students can create pieces of evidence which showcases their ability in the aspects of the pieces of evidence. They can then use commits from their group's repositories to add to their pieces of evidence. Students can also add skills, categories and weblinks to their pieces of evidence. They can also link other users to the pieces of evidence if they collaborated with others.

One of Pofo's points of difference is providing an analytical summary created from pieces of evidence as entered by the students. We have generated graphs for individuals and groups as a visual tool for analysing performance and to identify areas requiring self-improvement. The graphs analyse different kinds of data such as skills, categories, and pieces of evidence.

Our second point of difference is offering personalised colour schemes, which allows users with visual impairments to use Pofo with ease.
