Greg's French Vanilla

This is a mod for the game Minecraft. It adds extra abilities to some of the vanilla Minecraft blocks and items. Moreover, it does it in such a way that no changes are required to the client. In multiplayer, a standard, unmodified Minecraft client can be used, making things as easy as possible for your players.

The currently provided enhancements are summarised below. See Usage for full instructions.

Signs
 Edit the text of previously placed signs, and move signs without losing their text.

Prerequisites

This is a Forge-based mod, so if you haven't done so already, you will need to install Forge. See the Download section below for recommended versions. The contents of the downloaded zip files for these needs to be copied into your minecraft.jar file.

French Vanilla has been tested with the following versions of Minecraft and Forge. It may or may not work with other versions.

Installation

Forge

Instructions for installing Minecraft Forge: • Minecraft 1.6 • Minecraft 1.5.2 and earlier

Single Player

Copy FrenchVanilla-<version>.jar into your mods folder.

Multiplayer

Copy FrenchVanilla-<version>.jar into the server's mods folder. Nothing needs to be installed on the client.

Usage

SignsTo edit the text of an existing sign, right-click on it with a piece of charcoal.

When you break a sign with your bare hand or a non-tool item, it retains its text while in your inventory and can be placed down again without losing the text.

If you break a sign using a tool, the text is cleared and it reverts to a blank, stackable sign.
